CHAPEL HILL, N.C. -- The UNC women's tennis team (31-1), defeated the Old Dominion Monarchs (19-5) 4-0 on Saturday afternoon in the second round of the NCAA Tournament at the Chewning Tennis Center.
In doubles play, the No. 3 tandem of Reese Brantmeier and Reilly Tran quickly gave UNC the doubles point advantage after winning 6-2. The No. 2 duo of Elizabeth Scotty and Carson Tanguilig clinched the doubles point, giving the Tar Heels the early 1-0 lead entering singles play.
In singles action, top-ranked Fiona Crawley gave the Tar Heels a 2-0 lead after she won 6-1, 6-3 on court two.
