CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – The University of North Carolina women's soccer program will open play on its 44th season, all under head coach Anson Dorrance, Thursday night as the No. 10 Tar Heels welcome No. 11 Tennessee to Dorrance Field for a 7 p.m. match-up.
The Tar Heels have won seven consecutive lid lifters, including all three at Dorrance Field, and are 36-5-2 all-time in their first game of the season.
Each of their seven consecutive straight season opening triumphs have come at home where UNC is 38-2-3 all-time in front of it fans to begin a home schedule.
