CHAPEL HILL—Five-time defending Atlantic Coast Conference champion North Carolina (18-0) has earned the No. 1 seed in the 2021 NCAA Tournament, the NCAA announced on Sunday night with the release of its 29-team field.
Carolina, an automatic qualifier as the ACC champion, will host NCAA games on Friday May 14 and Sunday May 16 at Dorrance Field in Chapel Hill.
Tar Heels enter the NCAA Tournament with an 18-0 record, including a 9-0 ACC mark. Carolina won its fifth consecutive ACC Tournament last weekend, beating Louisville, Notre Dame and Syracuse to sweep to the title.
