CHAPEL HILL—Top-seeded North Carolina scored the final five goals of the game and came from behind to beat eighth-seeded Stony Brook, 14-11, in an NCAA Tournament quarterfinal on Saturday at Dorrance Field. Five different Tar Heels scored in the 5-0 run, as UNC overcame an 11-9 deficit in the final 7:34.
Stony Brook twice took two-goal leads in the second half, ripping off a 7-3 run coming out of the break. The Seawolves scored with 8:41 remaining to post an 11-9 lead before UNC went on its final run to take control.
Carolina advanced to next weekend's NCAA semifinals, reaching the final four for the ninth time in the last 12 NCAA Tournaments (since 2009).
