RALEIGH—North Carolina State scored 14 points in the final 1:35 of the game, coming back to stun North Carolina, 34-30, in a back-and-forth affair and regular season finale for both teams on Friday night at Carter-Finley Stadium.
Carolina took a 30-21 lead with 2:12 to go, only to see Wolfpack quarterback Devin Leary connect with Emeka Emezie for two touchdowns sandwiched around a successful onside kick attempt in a span of 26 seconds.
After spotting the Wolfpack a 14-0 lead in the first quarter, the Tar Heels roared back with 24 unanswered points to take a 24-14 lead with 6:03 remaining in the third quarter.
