CHAPEL HILL—Coby White scored a season-high 34 points as fifth-ranked North Carolina defeated Syracuse, 93-85, on Tuesday night in the Smith Center.
White hit 9 of 14 shots from the floor, including 6 of 11 three-pointers, to become the first UNC freshman to post three 30-point scoring games.
Cameron Johnson added 16 points for the Tar Heels, who also got 11 points and six rebounds from Nassir Little and nine points, 12 rebounds and six assists from Luke Maye.
With the victory, UNC improved to 23-5 overall this season and 13-2 in the Atlantic Coast Conference.
