ROCHESTER, N.Y. – In her Symetra Tour debut, 2019 graduate Kelly Whaley is tied for the field lead after the opening round of the Danielle Downey Credit Union Classic at the par 72, 6,441-yard Brook-Lea Country Club course Thursday in Rochester, N.Y.
Whaley shot 66 (-6) with five birdies on the front nine, rounding out the day with eight total in her first round as a professional. Min-G Kim shares the lead with a 66 on seven birdies.
Fellow Carolina alum, Miami Schechter carded 70 (-2) with three birdies on day one.
