GREENSBORO, N.C. (theACC.com) – North Carolina freshman Destinee Walker was named to the 2015-16 All-ACC Women's Basketball Academic Team, as announced today by Commissioner John Swofford.
The Orlando, Florida, native was named to the ACC All-Freshman team earlier this week after an outstanding rookie season with the Tar Heels. Walker averaged 13.9 points per game, the second-best figure on the team. Entering the ACC Tournament, she led the nation in total minutes played, while her 37.3 minutes per game average is the second most in program history.
NC State junior guard Ashley Williams is the recipient of the eighth annual Kay Yow Scholar-Athlete of the Year Award.
