CHAPEL HILL - Walker Hume scored the game winner for No. 1 North Carolina in a 1-0 victory over Pitt on Friday night at Fetzer Field.
North Carolina improved to 5-1 on the season, and 2-0 against the Atlantic Coast Conference. Pitt falls to 1-4-1, 0-2.
Carolina took the lead in the 37th minute when twin-brothers Tucker and Walker Hume connected for the goal. Reserve Jelani Pieters earned a free kick from 30 yards out straight on from goal. Freshman Cam Lindley’s chip found the chest of Tucker and he left a pass for his brother to deposit from 18 yards.
