WINSTON-SALEM—Wake Forest ran out to a 10-point lead by halftime and defeated North Carolina, 98-76, on Saturday night at the Joel Coliseum.
Wake Forest hit 12 of its first 18 shots in the second half to build on its lead. The Demon Deacons shot 54 percent from the floor in the game, including 57 percent in the second half.
Jake Laravia led all scorers with a career-high 31 points for Wake.
Brady Manek led Carolina with 22 points and eight rebounds despite fouling out with over five minutes to play. RJ Davis added 18 points for the Tar Heels, and Armando Bacot had his ninth consecutive double-double with 12 points and 12 boards.
