Vince Carter, North Carolina Tar Heels alum, is set to play his final season in the NBA this year with the Atlanta Hawks, as first reported by ESPN.
The 2019-20 season will be Carter’s 22nd in the league, an all-time record. The 42-year-old will surpass Robert Parish, Kevin Willis, Kevin Garnett, and Dirk Nowitzki as the NBA leader in seasons played.
Carter has appeared in 1,481 games in the NBA, good for fifth all-time. He needs just 42 games this season to pass John Stockton and Nowitzki for sole possession of third on the list.
