GREENSBORO, N.C. – UNC junior Aranza Vazquez collected her second gold medal of the 2023 ACC Swimming and Diving Championships on Wednesday with a first-place finish in the women's 1-meter diving competition.
It was her second win in as many days after claiming the gold medal in the 3-meter springboard competition Tuesday.
Vazquez posted an ACC Championship and UNC record score of 379.25, finishing 49.20 points ahead of Miami's Mia Vallee in second place. UNC's Emily Grund finished in fifth place with a score of 289.50.
Grace Countie, who previously qualified for the NCAA Championships in the women's 50-yard freestyle, earned a fifth-place finish in event with a time of 21.
