The U.S. Women's National Team beat Japan 1-0 Tuesday at the FIH Hockey World League Semifinals to assure itself a spot in the fields for both the FIH Hockey World League Final later this year and in the 2018 Hockey World Cup.
The victory gave the U.S. a 3-2 record at the event in Johannesburg, South Africa, and marked the milestone 250th cap for former Tar Heel Katelyn (Falgowski) Ginolfi. A three-time Olympian, she has been a member of the squad since 2003, when she was still in high school.
