COLUMBUS, Ohio – University of North Carolina junior diver Elissa Dawson of Durham, N.C., placed fifth Tuesday in 10-meter women's platform diving at the USA Diving Winter National Championships which conclude on Wednesday.
"Elissa just finished her event and she did a great job," says UNC diving coach Abel Sanchez. "I'm extremely proud of her for ending up fifth at her first Nationals on 10 meter platform. Tomorrow she dives three meter finals and I expect more good things from her in that event."
Incoming Tar Heel men's diver Greg Duncan, who will enroll in August 2017 at Chapel Hill, took eighth in the men's three-meter diving competition.
