Tobin Heath continues to reel in the accolades.
The 29-year-old Portland Thorns midfielder has been named the U.S. Soccer Female Player of the Year, adding to her long list of accomplishments.
Last month, the Portland Thorns named her as the Assistant Youth Technical Director for Thorns FC Development Academy. The academy will tentatively launch in the fall of 2017.
Regarding the coveted honor, the Thorns released an official statement (per the Oregonian):
PORTLAND, Ore. – Portland Thorns FC midfielder Tobin Heath was awarded the 2016-17 Harry Glickman Award for Female Professional Athlete of the Year as part of the Oregon Sports Awards presented by Nike, it was announced Sunday evening at the Oregon Sports Awards show held in Beaverton, Ore.
