It has been a tumultuous season to say the least for UNC’s storied women’s soccer program. In some ways, it was always going to be, after Anson Dorrance’s surprise retirement just days before the start of the season, but interim coach Damon Nahas has had to deal not just with the trials of being an interim coach leading a team for the first time, but with some circumstances that would have been tough on any coach and program. Still, he’s managed the bumps fairly admirably, and on Selection Monday this week, was rewarded with his team landing a #2 seed in the NCAA Tournament starting this Friday.
