The UNC women's soccer program will be highly represented at the Olympics in Rio next month with seven former Tar Heels making the roster for Team USA. Five Tar Heels made the regular roster with two others traveling with the team to serve as alternates.
Crystal Dunn, Whitney Engen, Tobin Heath, Meghan Klingenberg, and Allie Long were named to the full squad by coach Jill Ellis. Ashlyn Harris and Heather O'Reilly were named alternates. O'Reilly and Heath were on previous Olympic squads for Team USA while Klingenberg served as an alternate during the London Olympics. All the others are making their first trip.
