North Carolina and Duke met for the fourth time this season Friday night in Cary for the national semifinals of the women’s College Cup. As was the case when the UNC men’s basketball team faced Duke in the Final Four in 2022 with their long-time head coach retiring, the Tar Heels closed out the career of Robbie Church, who announced he’d be retiring at the end of this season over the summer. The Heels got on the board first and never looked back on their way to a 3-0 win.
Kate Faasse did what she has done all season when she scored the game’s first goal on a penalty kick less than 10 minutes into the game.
