UNC Women’s Basketball: Three Things to Watch vs West Virginia

In their final game in Carmichael Arena this season, the third-seeded UNC women’s basketball team will face #6 seed West Virginia with a Sweet Sixteen berth on the line. For UNC, it would be their first trip past the first weekend of the tournament since 2022, and an opportunity to play somebody other than South Carolina in the Sweet Sixteen for the first time since 2011. West Virginia is a really solid team, though — they’re actually favored in the matchup, albeit by a point. In what shapes up to be a slugfest the kind that we’ve watched UNC and Duke (coincidentally, the team that awaits the winner of this one in the next round) participate in over the past few years.
