If you need further proof that this Tar Heel team is a different one than what took the court earlier in the season, look no further than yesterday’s win over Notre Dame. In the first weekend of 2025, the Tar Heels struggled to beat the Irish in South Bend and needed some last second heroics in order to secure the win. The Irish would ultimately finish in the bottom of the league and had to fight to make it to Charlotte.
The play on the court yesterday was completely different than that day two months ago. RJ Davis and Ian Jackson weren’t the leading scorers, and the Tar Heels rode Jae’Lynn Withers in the first half to make it to where Notre Dame never really had a shot.
