Tonight, the North Carolina Tar Heels will play in the NCAA Women’s Soccer Tournament title game for the 28th time in program history when they face off against Wake Forest. This will be the second time that these two teams have met this season, and it will be the first time ever that the Demon Deacons have played for the NCAA title. The Tar Heels currently have a 35-2-3 all-time record against the Deacons, and they have outscored them 120-15 all-time.
While the head-to-head record is very lopsided, it goes without saying that the December 2024 version of Wake Forest is unlike any version of the team that the Heels have faced in the past.
