North Carolina (4-4) tallied its first win in nearly six weeks on Saturday afternoon, defeating Virginia (4-4) handily, 41-14. The Tar Heels entered off a bye week and trending in a disastrous direction, but cruised to the season’s first ACC victory as underdogs in Charlottesville.
Jacolby Criswell threw for 293 yards and two scores — both of which were to J.J. Jones — and was beautifully complemented by the Tar Heel defense, which forced two turnovers. It was a refreshing victory.
