Down 16 points with just under 13 minutes to play, freshman Ian Jackson looked destined to be the lone bright spot in another frustrating loss.
However, the North Carolina Tar Heels played lockdown defense and made the most of their offensive opportunities over the last 10 minutes to win a much-needed game against a ranked opponent, and Jackson was a central player in the comeback.
Jackson did not start, but once he entered the game, he was a difference-maker on both ends of the court. In the first half, Carolina struggled with turnovers and could not find a rhythm on offense, and wound up facing an eight-point deficit at the half.
