Drama is the name of the game for these clashing squads as both No. 1 Tennessee and No. 4 North Carolina won via the walk-off in Friday’s opening round of the College World Series. The Tar Heels, once again, battled back in the latter third of the contest and send the Virginia Cavaliers to the losers bracket with a Vance Honeycutt single into LF. The nightcap between the Vols and the Seminoles was likely more entertaining for the neutral fan, as Tennessee rallied from a three run deficit in the bottom of the ninth to tie, and later in the same inning, walk-off the ACC runner-up.
