There were two positive takeaways from Carolina’s 82-67 win against SMU Tuesday night in Chapel Hill. One is the Heels actually putting together a (mostly) complete game. The Heels jumped out to 6-0 and 23-13 leads in the first half and led by 15 at the half. They mostly maintained that lead throughout the second half despite an ugly stretch of nearly seven minutes without making a field goal.
Arguably a bigger positive is the return of RJ Davis to his All-American form, at least for this game. Davis scored in double figures in both halves, finishing with a game high 23 points.
