In Tuesday’s night UNC-San Diego State matchup, a dominant defense showed up and shut down the opposing team, just as many expected. Unexpectedly it was the guys in baby blue that played lockdown defense in the first half to secure UNC’s first win ever as an 11 seed, 95-68.
It’s a cathartic win for Tar Heel fans. For the last two days all we’ve heard is how UNC didn’t belong, they got in because of Bubba, 1-12 in Quad 1 wins, etc. Pick a big name in college basketball commentating, and they probably proclaimed outrage at the Heels inclusion in the bracket.
