UNC vs Pitt: Player of the Game - Ven-Allen Lubin

Ven-Allen Lubin recorded the best scoring output of his Carolina career on Saturday afternoon, scoring 17 points in the Heels narrow 67-66 win against Pittsburgh in Chapel Hill.

Lubin came out of the gate on fire, scoring nine straight points for the Heels after Trimble opened the UNC scoring with a three. His scoring burst in the first five minutes of the game was fueled by some nice assists by the Carolina guards and helped the Heels race out to an early 12-3 lead. He would end the first half as Carolina’s leading scorer with 11 points. While most of his points came from seemingly easy layups and dunks, his positioning in the post and ability to roll around defenders looked a little reminiscent of UNC big men of seasons past:
