On Sunday night when the women’s NCAA Tournament bracket was announced, it was confirmed that the North Carolina Tar Heels would get to open the event at home. UNC received the #3 seed in Region 2, entitling them to host the first weekend at Carmichael Arena. Like any NCAA Tournament bracket, there ae some potentially tough matchups down the line, but in this event, you can never afford to look past the very next game, and that starts in round one against Oregon State.
In their first season after having been abandoned by all but one of their Pac-12 compatriots, Oregon State joined the West Coast Conference for this season, and ended up winning their conference tournament to get the automatic bid.
