North Carolina lost their second in a row on Saturday night, falling to rival NC State at Kenan Memorial Stadium, 35-30.
A game that began with minds set on Mack Brown’s final go on the sidelines ended in players throwing punches and flags on those same sidelines, as tempers flared in postgame handshakes. The Wolfpack claimed their fourth consecutive victory over the Tar Heels and sent Coach Brown out with a sour taste, and North Carolina will begin their new coaching search and preparation for 2025.
The Tar Heels had their chances to escape with a victory, but in familiar fashion, offered too little too late on their way into another bowl season in flux.
