If you didn’t watch UNC play NC Central on Saturday evening, the final score of 45-10 might make you think it was a pretty ho-hum game between an FBS team and an FCS team, the kind of “buy game” we see every week in college football where the superior athletes of the former are just too much for the latter to handle. A slightly closer look, though, would tell you that the score was just 17-10 after three quarters, showing that the Tar Heels found themselves in a pretty tight battle for 45 minutes against a team that, by every conceivable expectation, they simply should not have struggled much to score against.
