It’s been too long since we’ve been able to say this, but it’s game week.
All of the training camp practices are done, the students have been back on campus for nearly two weeks, other teams have started off their season, and we’ve even seen upsets in college football before this, the “official” start of the college football season. On Thursday, we finally get to see our first meaningful Carolina football game of 2024.
The Tar Heels travel up to Minneapolis to take on the Minnesota Golden Gophers. It’s the return of the home-and-home that saw Minnesota come down to Chapel Hill last season — a 31-13 win for the Tar Heels where Drake Maye put up 414 yards, and was dominant except for two interceptions that kept the Gophers in the game.
