Sometimes it’s just as easy as looking at the box score and seeing who led the squad in scoring. When the examination of the game against Michigan State yields that player to be Drake Powell, and you remember just how good he looked out on the floor both offensively and defensively despite his age and size, the call is easy to make him Player of the Game.
Powell was a monster on Wednesday night, going 7-9 overall shooting and 4-6 from behind the three point line. It’s actually surprising he wasn’t 5-6, because his miss of an open three in overtime looked so good, it was a shock when it clanged off the rim.
