The North Carolina Tar Heels are just moments away from taking on Michigan State in the third place game of the Maui Invitational. First thing’s first though: Auburn smacked Memphis to win the Maui Invitational, mostly thanks to Johni Broome scoring 21 points, pulling down 16 rebounds, dishing out six assists, and having four blocks. It’s clear that Broome was the MVP of this tournament and that he was not going to be stopped by any team that participated, and he proved that in the final game of the event. Sure, the Heels have a glaring issue on their roster as far as a reliable rebounder/post defender goes, but it’s worth noting that Broome is a beast so far this season that is going to cause a lot of problems in the SEC.
