Ever since getting blown out at Clemson, the Tar Heels seemed to have regrouped and all of a sudden are on the outer edges of the NCAA Tournament. It’s a bit of a remarkable turnaround for a team that looked every bit the part of a team that had just completely surrendered on the season.
That’s what makes today’s game so important.
Miami is bad. They were bad before coach Jim Larrañaga resigned right after Christmas, and then after he left they’ve just been worse. They only have two ACC wins—Notre Dame and Syracuse. Both of those wins were in Coral Gables, so they have yet to win a game on the road.
