Let’s get the main lesson from last night’s loss to Kansas out of the way: the Tar Heels are as good as any team in the country, but they are far from polished. It’s safe to say that we saw both a team that could make a deep run in the NCAA Tournament this year, and also a team that can be really frustrating to watch. The first half? Extremely frustrating. The second half? We witnessed a team that could do a lot of fun things this season. It’s reasonable to be optimistic after the loss, but it’s also reasonable to be disappointed and dwell on all of the work that needs to be done.
