It was not pretty, but the North Carolina Tar Heels won their conference opener on Saturday.
Carolina’s best player in the victory over Georgia Tech was junior Seth Trimble. He was efficient from the floor and made things happen on defense, leading all UNC scorers with 19 points and pulling down seven rebounds.
Trimble was smart and aggressive in this game. On offense, he drew a team-high six fouls. In fact, his four first points of the game came from the free throw line. Trimble finished eight of nine from the charity stripe yesterday.
Trimble also only missed one shot from the floor, hitting five of six attempts, including one for one from three.
