The Tar Heels dropped yet another close game to a good opponent on Tuesday night in Charlotte, falling 90-84 to the Florida Gators. One silver lining for the Heels was RJ Davis starting to get his groove back.
First, the obvious caveat: Davis still has a ways to go on regaining his three point form. He finished 3-11 from three for a 27% average (which, sadly, was still better than UNC’s 17.9% average as a team). Several of the misses were ugly; and while his missed three with 44 seconds left wasn’t the reason Carolina lost, it seemed emblematic of Davis’s struggles so far this season.
