You can’t throw the “just when you thought it couldn’t get worse” line out about North Carolina football, because we’ve seen worse. We expect that it can always get worse, but at the same time we are surprised at just how it got worse. For instance, on Saturday most of us would expect “getting worse” to be a repeat of the first half performance against James Madison. To see the team just absolutely dominate the Blue Devils for 2⁄3 of the game and then self-destruct? Well, that’s at least a surprise in the moment.
Of course, it shouldn’t have been.
