You really couldn’t have asked for a better day to have football in Chapel Hill on Saturday. The clouds kept the sun from beating down most of the day, the temperature didn’t escape the 70’s, and after nine months without UNC football in Kenan Stadium, there was a feel of some excitement in the air despite the opponent.
The Tar Heels never really had to sweat against Charlotte, as it was pretty evident early that even if the team as a whole is taking a step back this year, they still easily outclassed the 49ers. UNC got what they wanted out of the game: reps for their starting quarterback, reps for their depth pieces, a continuation of a lot of good habits, and plenty of film to use to show areas of improvement.
