Carolina easily dispatched California last night, 79-53. The margin of victory was the largest against an ACC opponent since beating Notre Dame by 33 points last year. While there was no huge backbreaking run, the Tar Heels steadily built their lead after trading baskets with the Golden Bears in the first four minutes and never looked back — they led by 10 at the half before pushing the lead to as much as 27 in the second half.
