UNC takes down Wake Forest to win their 22nd NCAA Championship

It goes without saying that UNC women’s soccer had a fair amount of uncertainty surrounding the program when Anson Dorrance suddenly announced his retirement earlier this fall. It was uncertain whether Damon Nahas would truly be the next man to lead the soccer team back to the College Cup, or if things would crumble and another coaching search would commence in 2025. Fast forward to tonight, where UNC just took down Wake Forest for the second time this season to win the their 22nd NCAA championship, and 23rd overall national championship.

While the Heels have made a habit out of making it to the College Cup, getting over the final hurdle has been a challenge since 2012.
