CHAPEL HILL – The No. 4 North Carolina Tar Heels took down No. 22 Virginia Tech 3-0 on Sunday in the quarterfinals of the ACC Tournament to advance to Wednesday's semifinal match against the winner of Pittsburgh and Duke at WakeMed Soccer Park in Cary at 7 p.m. ET. Goals from Jeremy Kelly, Mauricio Pineda and Jack Skahan led the Heels offensively while the defense pitched their fourth consecutive shutout.
After the first 12 minutes of the game saw little action, Jeremy Kelly got things going in the 13th minute.
