Typically, college teams play other colleges in preseason exhibitions. For example this year, UNC men’s basketball is playing Winston-Salem State, while the women will play Wingate, both are Division II teams. The men’s soccer team has a couple DI teams on the preseason slate, as they will face Stetson, NC State, and Maryland.
The women’s soccer team will play one preseason game, and it’s a very interesting opponent.
Today at 10 AM ET, the Tar Heels women’s soccer team will take on Olympique Lyonnais, the biggest and best women’s club team in Europe, and arguably the best in the world.
