After 42 seasons of leading the Tar Heels to a remarkable amount of NCAA championships, UNC women’s soccer coach Anson Dorrance has announced his retirement. The announcement was released by the school this afternoon, though Dorrance informed Bubba Cunningham of his decision on Friday.

“As many of you know I modeled our program after Dean Smith’s basketball program, and retiring at this time is a credit to his thinking, as well,” says Dorrance.
