As we go into August, we’re continually nearing the start of the 2024-25 college sports season. While in the fall, football tends to be what dominates the conversation, it’s not the only sport that is set to kick off in a couple weeks. Among the sports on the NCAA’s fall calendar is the other sport often called football: soccer.
The North Carolina Tar Heels soccer teams have a good history, each winning national championships, with the women of course being probably the greatest singular powerhouse in any one college sport’s history. Both teams are expected to still compete on a high level in 2024, as the United Soccer Coaches’ top 25 poll featured both UNC teams in their preseason top tens.
