Things looked rather bleak for UNC for the first few drives in their game against NC Central Saturday evening. The defense allowed the Eagles to march down the field for a 12-play, 75-yard scoring drive on their first possession. The Tar Heels offense looked stuck in the mud before some personnel changes provided a spark and things started going the way you’d expect when a team is a 37.5-point favorite. Carolina ultimately routed NCCU to win 45-10.
Conner Harrell couldn’t get much going for the offense as they were forced to punt on their first two drives. The first quarter ended with the Heels trailing 7-0 and frustration mounting over the absolute truckload of penalties called on the home team.
