For Mack Brown and the UNC football program, the recruiting fireworks went off a few days after the 4th of July. On Monday afternoon, class of 2020 defensive end Myles Murphy gave the Heels his verbal commitment. The in-state prospect from Greensboro, North Carolina had supposedly favored South Carolina for the majority of his recruitment. That didn’t stop North Carolina from being afforded his final official visit last month. That visit was apparently enough to sway him to the better Carolina. He announced his decision live at his school, but here’s Inside Carolina’s confirmation:
For a program that is trying to recreate its heyday of producing defensive stalwarts, Murphy is now the fifth defensive lineman to verbally commit for 2020.
