UNC’s Renaissance Computing Institute received a $20 million grant from the National Science Foundation to oversee a project exploring potential internet architectures. The project, called FABRIC, will allow researchers to investigate new approaches to constructing the internet and institutions to share high volumes of data quickly and more securely.
