CHAPEL HILL – North Carolina erupted to score 10 runs in the fifth inning to earn its second straight series win with a 12-3 victory over Wake Forest at Boshamer Stadium on Saturday.
The Diamond Heels (31-18, 12-14 ACC) have won five in a row and eight of their last nine games. UNC defeated the Deacons in Friday's series opener, 3-2.
Wake Forest (34-16-1, 11-14-1) tied the game at 2-all in the top of the second inning on a two-run home run by Paul Bennett.
Carolina blew the game open in the bottom of the fifth, sending 16 men to the plate and scored 10 runs on seven hits.
