There was never any doubt that Mitch Trubisky would be North Carolina’s starting quarterback. Tar Heels coach Larry Fedora made it official on Friday, though, and named Trubisky UNC’s starting quarterback.
The announcement crystallized what had already been assumed. Trubisky’s ascent to starter began as soon as last season ended with Marquise Williams, the team’s starting quarterback the past two seasons, playing his final game in a defeat against Baylor in the Russell Athletic Bowl.
